The Left/Right Rally

This evening, a group of optimistic folks got together to collectively refuse to take part in a recession. The Left/Right Rally, the brainchild of adman Darby O'brien and his team, was held to celebrate hope and change - interestingly enough, on Inauguration Night. It wasn't about politics, though. It was about coming together - right now.

The song is Rave-up or Shut-up, by the Rave Ups. Special appearances by the Holyoke Knights Marching Band, Drum Corps, and Cheerleaders.

Merry Miscellany in Massachusetts

Up the 'pike, down the 'pike. 495 to 93. Is it 93 North, or South? Is 95 off of Route 3? Which exit off the rotary? Crap, this route is entirely different. Traffic merging in the tunnel. From the right. Does the Zakim bridge still lead to the turn-off I need? Crap, I'm in the wrong lane. Shoot, it's an exit-only. Gotta get over, over, over... Toll is .50 cents now? I only have one quarter -- wait, there's one by my shoe. This doesn't look familiar.

And so goes navigating the Commonwealth of Massachusetts during the holidays. I put together a much peachier view in photos below... enjoy. The soundtrack is North Pole by the Dance Hall Crashers (The Old Record).

Weekend Interlude with Charley

I've been having a blast playing with my new camcorder and movie software, so I thought I'd share my first ~~travesty~~ short film.

This is also the first video I've uploaded to flickr... there's been a lot of debate about whether or not it was a good idea to add videos to flickr, and I'm honestly still on the fence. I love flickr, like many people do, and would hate to see it compromised. But at the same time, I love flickr, and would rather upload my videos to just one site instead of two or three, preferably to one I already adore.

I figured I'd start uploading here and there, and make a more educated decision as to whether I love the vids or loathe them later on.

BTW, there are groups on flickr now both in favor of and against the video component, if you want to more actively join the debate. I respect them both and apologize for being such a flagpole sittah, but hey, what's the world without a little moderation? ;)

That said, world, meet Charley.
